Nicki Minaj is undeniably on fire right now and she has the numbers to prove it. With her latest single, “Anaconda” making the charts this week at #19, Minaj has earned her 51st entry on the Hot 100 Hits list. Therefore, she has surpassed Michael Jackson, The King Of Pop, who held 50 entries on the Hot 100. Now Minaj is tied with the legendary singer, Rod Stewart.
Billboard magazine reports that Minaj has taken the lead on the Hot 100 as a female rapper and Missy Elliot has the second slot in the category with 31 entries. Currently in the genre of hip hop, Minaj ties with Eminem who has the seventh best total and Lil Wayne leads the entire Hot 100 with 122 entries as a rapper. Minaj expressed her gratefulness through Instagram, captioning the news with:
Made history today. I didn’t even know I was tied with Michael Jackson with 50 Hot 100 entries on Billboard. Anaconda makes 51 and now I’m tied with Rod Stewart. God bless, and thank you.
This serves as good news for Minaj, who recently spoke to The Fader about her upcoming album “The Pink Print” and how she survives the music industry.
Congratulations, Nicki!
